Master Bathroom Tile Walk In Shower Remodel
Our client for this project in Germantown Tennessee, wanted to get rid of the old ugly tub and have an easy access walk-in shower installed. Started with complete demolition of the flooring, vanity, tub, and tiles around. We also removed all of the old plumbing valves and fixtures, we remove the sheet rock down to the studs in some areas. After we got the flooring removed, we moved the tub drain into the middle for the walk-in shower. In order for the shower to be the size that she wanted, we also moved the commode drain. We started the process of the walk-in shower with Installing insulation in the shower and framing the niche, the curb, and installing the rpough in plumbing and electrical. Our electrician installed the wiring for the above shower light and new ventilation fan. Our plumber, then installed the new drains the new shower valve, and raise the height of the showerhead. We then installed Durok cemente board and waterproofed the shower with red guard waterproofing membrane. This is where the real phone begins. We installed 12 x 24“ tile vertically with an accent band at the top. As soon as the shower tile is installed, it’s very important to have the shower glass measured because they are custom-made and are typically a two week turnaround. The next step of the bathroom remodel was to lay the tile floor, we protected the floor with protective paper. We did all of the preparation and install of baseboards and shoe mold. We installed a white soft close white shaker vanity with a courts countertop. Now we were ready to paint the bathroom. Starting from the ceiling and working our way down. The next order of business was grouting all the tile. Top out time! Our plumber, then installed the trim kit for the shower and the faucet for the vanity with new P-trap, the toilet and vanity also got all new supply lines and shut off valves. The electrician came in and installed the above shower light the new vanity fixture and ventilation fan. He also installed a new GFCI and switch. This bathroom was completely remodeled from top to bottom with all new plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and tile work.
